Long Term Care
-Pharmaceutical Delivery-
Long-term Care (LTC) is a term given to individuals needing health, living, personal, or pharmaceutical care when they can no longer perform the task themselves and need additional help. The term LTC is also used to refer to the services given to these same individuals. For example, Loving Hands Pharmacy is an LTC pharmacy, and Assisted Living communities are also termed LTC. A person receiving care at home from a caregiver or family member is also considered long-term care.
A large proportion of LTC individuals are seniors. Research has shown that the U.S. older population grew from 2010 to 2020 at the fastest rate since 1920. In 2020, about 1 in 6 people in the U.S. were 65 and over. In CA alone, 5.8 million of its residents were 65 or over.
73% of senior (65 or older) men AND 50% of senior women lived with their spouses, whereas 27% of all seniors lived alone, whether in their own homes or an Assisted Living / Board and care home.
According to the Administration on Aging, 22.3% of seniors aged 65 – 74 assessed their health as fair or poor, compared to 29.3% for seniors over 75. Many of the leading chronic health conditions use medication to relieve or cure the symptoms.
Loving Hands has over ten years of experience with long-term care customers. For those living at home, free, fast delivery is worry-free, hassle-free, and on time. Medication may be filled in vials or monthly dispensing cards if it’s difficult to remember whether medication has been taken on any given day.
